Musings of the IrReverend Greg Powell
As long as all us huemans of
the human prism refuse to
evolve these things will
happen. Kingdoms rise,
kingdoms fall, and American
“exceptionalism” neither
excepts nor exempts us from
history. My peoples history
predisposes me to not be
cowed into despair by the
dying groans of beasts that
should’ve been extinct long
time ago. Like war, hate,
wicked politics and bullshit of
greed, hoarding of earth’s
wealth and violence against life.
And their sickness symptoms:
racism, despotic patriarchy,
xenophobia and plain phobia
as a way of life and operational
rationale of a society.
I think on these things when I’m praying.
Do you in your own way?
If you do does One Love answer?
This is something I am learning: that violence is the original sin. Prosperity through the violence of enslavement and exploitation. Violence of justice for the wealthy and surrender for those exiled from the earth’s God breathed wealth. Violence of physical, cultural and spiritual murder. Violence of Cain slaying Abel and the blood crying out from Gazan soil.
I give my life to love as I am nurtured every day by One Love. To everything that makes for peace, including peace’ most essential ingredient: justice. I devote myself to yearning, learning, seeking, the essentials of being hueman, and finding the hueman in my earth kin. I have my path and you have yours. If were trying to get to the same destination, building up rather than primitive acts of dismantling, a better world for generations to come and sturdy shoulders for them to stand, and peace via reverence for life no matter the tribe to which it belongs, then my prayer is that we meet somewhere along the Way.
